DEEP DIVE WORKSHOP – GREECE

In the framework of the AgTech7 project, co-funded by the Erasmus+ Programme of the EUNEUROPUBLIC and the South-East European Research Centre (SEERC) co-organized an online webinar on Tuesday the 10th of November 2020, mainly addressed to University Students, Academics, Researchers, Agribusiness Companies and Stakeholders. The webinar focused on the application of new technologies in the agri-food sector and especially on agricultural technologies and neuroscience marketing techniques.

The objective was to give participants an understanding of the capabilities and the great potential of applying Internet of Things and Earth Observation technologies in the agricultural sector as well as the trends of applying neuro-science marketing techniques in the agri-food sector accompanied with practical real life examples.

After a brief introduction about the AgTech7 project in general, the first presentation held by NEUROPUBLIC included an analysis of the aspects of Internet of Things (IoT) and Earth Observation (EO) and how they are practically used for increasing farm yield and reducing inputs such as fertilizers, pesticides and irrigation water. The second presentation made by SEERC focused on neuro-science marketing techniques used for shifting diets and personalized branding. Following the presentations of the two modules’ structure, a case study took place demonstrating a real life example on using IoT and EO applications in Smart Farming, and more specifically in experimental plot of lands located in Poland and Cyprus.

The webinar ended with a “Question & Answer” session between organizers and participants along with a round table discussion about emerging agri-tech issues that arose during the presentations. Feedback from the different point of view of participants is regarded useful and will be taken into consideration for developing and finalizing the modules’ structure.

Attendants were satisfied and found the webinar’s content really interesting, stating that they would gladly participate in other relevant forthcoming workshops. We wish to thank them once again for their contribution.
